Uniforms

OPEN TO ALL SMLS FAMILIES:
We are blessed to have current and alumni families who donate gently used, outgrown uniforms for use by anyone in our school who can use them.  Our Uniform Exchange is now available year-round and there is no cost or donation required.  Please contact the Main Office at info@smlschool.org, so we coordinate a time.

Preschool

Uniforms are optional for Preschoolers during the 2020-2021 school year.  If desired, the PK uniform is the same as the gym uniform below.

Summer Uniform  September 1 - October 31 and  April 29 - End of School Year

Grades K-4 BOYS 

• Navy blue walking shorts with plain black, brown or navy belt *(Belt is a REQUIRED part of the Uniform)
• Light blue polo shirt with school emblem
• Black dress shoes or solid black sneakers
• Navy blue or black visible crew socks

Grades K-4 GIRLS

• Navy blue walking shorts with plain black, brown or navy belt worn with a light blue polo shirt with school emblem and navy blue knee socks or tights
• The year-round plaid jumper is worn with a white blouse and white ankle sock
• Navy blue MaryJanes or navy blue oxfords (Velcro is acceptable.)

Grades 5-8 BOYS

• Navy blue walking shorts with plain black, brown or navy belt *(Belt is a REQUIRED part of the Uniform)
• Light blue polo shirt with school emblem 
• Black dress shoes or solid black sneakers
• Navy blue or black visible crew socks  

• Navy blue walking shorts or navy blue skort, no more than 2 inches above the knee
• Light blue polo banded-bottom shirt with school emblem 
• Burgundy penny loafers or navy blue oxfords 
• Navy blue tights or navy knee socks or white visible quarter socks

Winter Uniform  November 1 - April 18

Grades K-4 BOYS

• Navy blue dress pants with plain black, brown or navy belt *(Belt is a REQUIRED part of the Uniform)*
• Light blue oxford shirt, long or short-sleeved
• Navy blue vest or navy blue pullover sweater with school emblem 
• Black dress shoes or solid black sneakers (Velcro is acceptable) 

Grades K-4 GIRLS

• Option 1:
  • Year-round plaid jumper 
  • White Peter Pan blouse (long or short sleeves) or white turtleneck;
  • Optional- navy blue cardigan, with school emblem 
  • Navy blue knee socks or navy blue tights
• Option 2:
  • Navy blue pants with plain black, brown or navy belt
  • Light blue polo shirt with school emblem, long or short sleeves
  • Navy blue vest or pullover with school emblem
  • Navy blue or black socks

• Shoes for both options: Navy blue MaryJanes or navy blue oxfords (Velcro is acceptable)

Grades 5-8  BOYS

• Navy blue dress pants with plain black, brown or navy belt *(Belt is a REQUIRED part of the Uniform)*
• Light blue oxford shirt, long or short-sleeved, with a navy tie 
• A solid navy blue vest or navy blue pullover sweater with school emblem 
• Black dress shoes or solid black sneakers 

Grades 5-8 GIRLS

• Navy skort or navy pants with plain black, brown or navy belt
• Light blue oxford shirt, long or short-sleeved 
• A solid navy blue vest or navy blue pullover sweater with school emblem 
• Burgundy penny loafers or navy blue oxfords, navy blue tights 

PK* through 8th-grade Gym Uniforms - Gym Uniforms can be purchased at school or at Flynn & O’Hara (*PK optional)

• Solid navy blue shorts (plain, no stripes, white side panels)
• Light blue T-Shirt with school emblem
• Plain navy blue sweatshirt (school emblem) and plain navy blue sweat pants are mandatory during winter uniform months.  
• Athletic shoes: sneakers need to have laces or velcro closure. Please mark uniform clothes with students name.
• Please, no zippers or hoodie sweatshirts, slip-on, backless, fashion, platform, or light-up sneakers are permitted.      

Additional Uniform Guidelines

• Boys light blue polo shirts and light blue oxford shirts must be tucked in with a belt. (Boys and Girls). White undershirts (no colored t-shirts) may be worn underneath.
• All shoes must be non-skid/non-scuff, free of LOGOs. No flip-flops or ”Crocs” 
• Jewelry: a wristwatch, religious medal, or cross necklace is permissible. One pair of small earrings for girls only. Boys are not permitted to wear earrings. 
• Skorts must be an acceptable length, no more than 2 inches above the knee. 
• Boys- Neatly groomed hair, above ears, eyes, and collar. Free of dye or tint. No facial hair. 
• Girls- Neatly groomed hair.  Free of dye and tint.
• 7th & 8th Grade Girls ONLY- Make-up is limited: pale lipgloss and clear, pale pink, or french manicured nails.
