Technology is always changing, evolving and growing in our society.
At St. Mary of the Lakes School, we stay on the forefront of technology by providing students, faculty, administration and support staff access to a wide variety of hardware and software resources that facilitate improved student learning and communication. Technology continues to push educational capabilities to new levels and its importance in the classroom is evident now more than ever.
At our state-of-the art wireless campus, all students and faculty use laptop computers, Chromebooks and iPad tablets to engage in learning activities, conduct research, and complete classroom assignments. Every classroom is equipped with a projector and large screen TV connected to our video broadcast system for announcements and our morning TV show. Interactive whiteboard technology is available for teachers to provide lessons and learning experiences that honor the differences in learning styles and needs of our students. All SMLS Faculty attend professional development regularly to maintain advanced technology skills.
Google Workspace allows our teachers to provide instant feedback and track a student’s progress to improve performance. Using Google Classroom, teachers can manage curriculum, assignments, and grading all in one place. Students can collaborate and communicate with their teacher and classmates. Only authorized SML users (teachers, students and designated staff) have access to an SML Google Classroom.
